One of Lebanon's oldest and most visited tourist attractions, the gondolas of the Teleferique aerial cableway are a trip down memory lane, from a pioneering venture in 1965 to a beautifully preserved modern-day attraction offering breathtaking views of the bay of Jounieh and the surrounding city, the Teleferique is an impressive testimony to time gone by, one meter at a time.
Make it memorable…
A day spent at the Teleferique is worth remembering. You can shop for souvenirs and gift items in Jounieh, grab a bite, let your kids loose in the playground, and even book a Paragliding session. Once you board the cabin and reach the top, you can take the Funicular from the Harissa station towards the Sanctuary or have a meal at the Foodcourt. Your kids can enjoy the playground as you take in the view of the bay of Jounieh. And last but not least, enjoy watching the sun set along the bay of Jounieh.
Our Lady of Lebanon
Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa is one of the most important Marian shrines in the world, attracting millions of Christians and Muslims each year. It features a towering 15-ton bronze statue of the Virgin Mary with arms extended toward Beirut. The site includes a chapel, church, and basilica, all set atop a mountain offering panoramic views from Jounieh to Beirut. Visitors can reach the shrine via funicular from the Teleferique, making the journey as scenic as the destination.
